P. A. Regalia was born in Walnut Creek, California, and received the BSc, MSc and PhD degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara in 1985, 1987 and 1988, respectively, and the Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches from the University of Paris-Orsay in 1994. Prior to joining CUA in 2004, he worked at the Institut Télécom SudParis in Evry, France, where he headed the Communications, Image and Information Processing department. He is presently the Editor-in-Chief of the EURASIP J. Advances in Signal Processing, and serves on the editorial board of the IEEE Signal Processing Magazine as well as the Elsevier Signal Processing journal. He was elected Fellow of the IEEE in 2000 for contributions to digital filter design and adaptive filtering.
