About the Program
The mentoring program is student-run and its success depends on the student mentors that volunteer their time to help out their fellow students. While students still have their faculty mentors to help them with deciding about what classes to take or where to go for help in a subject, some students find it a lot easier to talk with their peers. Whether it is recommending a teacher for a certain class, needing someone to look over a paper or critique a presentation, or learning about the different activities on campus, incoming freshmen should feel free to ask their mentors any questions about the CUA campus and DC. This is why the mentoring program was set up. If you have any questions please contact your mentor or contact one of the Co-Chairs listed below.

Professional Societies
The Mentoring Board highly encourages freshmen to get involved in their major's professional society. Each major has its own student run professional society. Not only is it a great way to meet upperclassmen in your major but it’s a great way to discover information about your field that is not in text books. Many of the societies have guest lecturers of professional engineering that visit CUA and talk about a project they are currently working on or what their company does. Many of the guest lectures are CUA Alumni and they love to answer questions that many of the students might have about his or her field. Not only do students learn a lot from attending these lectures, but it also helps to create contacts for future internships.
